A
comfortable restaurant with friendly, helpful staff in
a busy commercial hotel. "Smart Choice" dishes on the
lunch time menu comprised two mains at $12.00, grilled
fresh mussels or a spinach salad served with onions, tomatoes
and avacado followed by a choice of two desserts at $8.00.
If you are a visitor to New Zealand, do try the local
green lipped mussels. They are delicious and huge
by comparison with their counterparts elsewhere in the
world.
The
dinner menu offered a choice of two starters at $13 -
$14.00 and two mains at $24-$25.00. The mains were poached
chicken breast, deliciously "Thai", in a coriander, coconut
and chili broth, and fried salmon fillets. Desserts at
$8.00 were a choice of fresh fruits with a selection of
sorbets or Panna Cotta with lemon sorbet and mango couli,
an interesting combination of tastes.
